Tommy J. Smith is a Toombs County, Georgia native. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Georgia Southern University in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1997. During law school, he clerked part time for W.L.Salter and Mitch Shook. Tommy established the law firm of Smith & Cannon, P.C. in Vidalia and later sold his interest to return to a solo practice in 2004. In that same year he established Tommy J. Smith & Associates, P.C.  The firm switched names to Smith & Tillery, P.C., in 2013.  Mr. Smith served as Solicitor General for Toombs County from 2004-2007.  He currently serves as the Municipal Court Judge for the cities of Helena, McRae and Milan.  In 2006, Tommy was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve as the State Court Judge of Toombs County.  He still holds this position today.

Tommy practices in various fields of civil litigation with a focus on social security disability, workers compensation, personal injury, and real estate.


A Vidalia native, Blake Tilleryis currently the managing partner of Smith & Tillery, P.C.  Blake joined the law firm that is now Smith & Tillery, P.C. in 2013.  A graduate of Vidalia Comprehensive High School, Blake went on to the University of Georgia where he excelled in civic and educational endeavors. While earning his degree, Blake was involved in many political campaigns and worked for several state government agencies. Blake attended law school at the University of Georgia where he served in the Student Bar Association. Today, Blake serves on the Board of Directors for the Toombs County Boys & Girls Club, Kiwanis Club of Vidalia, the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission, the Downtown Vidalia Association, the Toombs County Health Department, the Toombs County Development Authority, the Heart of Georgia Workforce Investment Board, and the Toombs-Montgomery Young Professionals Association.  He is a member of the First Baptist Church. Blake was also named to GeorgiaTrend Magazine’s distinguished “40 Under 40” list in October 2013, while he was only 29 years old.

Blake is a graduate of both the LEAD Athens and Leadership Toombs-Montgomery programs. He served as Chairman of the Toombs County Commission from 2013 to 2016.  Blake currently represents Georgia District 19 as State Senator. His practice generally focuses on workers’ compensation, real estate, probate, personal injury, and certain corporate matters.
